Update on Drones in New Jersey
Yet Another Unsurprising Secret Government Operation
Yesterday, White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt read a statement from President Donald Trump regarding recent mysterious drone activity sighted over New Jersey over the past two months. Trump asserted that the drones were authorized by the Federal Aviation Administration for “research and various other reasons” and that hobbyists eventually compounded the quantity of sightings.
The announcement led to considerable outcry among the public as well as municipal, county, and state officials. As reported at this Asbury Park Press article, Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden and Ocean County Sheriff Michael Mastronardy both expressed consternation that they and the public were not informed that this was a US federal government operation. The article quotes other government officials who expressed similar concerns. New Jersey Assemblyman Paul Kanitra (not unreasonably) accused the Biden Administration of lying to the American people.
